Voice Coaching at Wild Ferns
Find your voice and the tools to use it well
Your voice is one of the most personal things about you, and it can take real support to feel at home in it. Whether you’re shaping a voice that fits who you are, working toward a sound that feels more like yourself, or simply wanting to speak and be heard with more confidence, voice coaching meets you where you are. Trans and non-binary folks are at the heart of this practice, and everyone who wants to explore their voice, spoken or sung, is welcome. There’s no single right way for a voice to sound. There’s only the one that feels right to you.
What to Expect
New to voice coaching? Here’s the short version.
Voice coaching is a collaborative, hands-on process built around your goals, not a one-size-fits-all program. You and your coach work together over a series of sessions to explore your voice, both physically and expressively, and you come away with tools to keep using your voice in a healthy way, at home, at work, and everywhere in between. Sessions are available in person in Lansing or virtually from anywhere in the country, so you can work with Ash wherever you are.
The work can go in a lot of directions depending on what you want:
- Gender affirming voice, spoken and sung, developed at a pace that feels safe
- Everyday comm780unication and speaking with more confidence
- Singing and vocal technique
- Making music, including writing, performing, and recording, with basic guitar and piano

Ash Zvonham
(she/they)
Lingua Cordis
I started out planning to teach music in public schools, and over time I found my way to what I think of as a truly important niche: vocal coaching for my fellow trans and non-binary people who want to shape their voices, both musically and conversationally. A comfortable environment for growth and change is my first concern, and it’s central to how I approach all things voice and music. I want to give you a space to explore your voice, physically and expressively, while building the tools to keep using it in a healthy way in every part of your life. And with my background in music performance, education, and audio engineering, I can also teach you the basics of writing, performing, and recording music, including guitar and piano.
